Message from President:
Amber Banks

As we reflect five years of impact, growth, and collective leadership, I am filled with both gratitude and resolve.
The Alliance was born from a powerful truth: Black-led CDFIs are essential architects of economic justice. Over the past five years, we have built infrastructure that matters. We have expanded membership, launched transformative initiatives and helped mobilize significant capital to support entrepreneurs, homeowners, and developers in communities too often overlooked. We have demonstrated that Black-led institutions are not only participants in the national economy, but they are also leaders shaping its future.
We recognize the challenges ahead of us. The need for our communities remains urgent. But Black-led CDFIs have never relied solely on favorable conditions to succeed. We adapt. We lead. As President, I see my role as building on the strong foundation laid by our founding leaders and by CEO Lenwood V. Long, Sr., whose vision and stewardship have positioned The Alliance for this next chapter. Our charge now is clear: deepen capacity, expand access to capital, strengthen our policy voice, and ensure that Black communities have full and fair access to the financial tools necessary to build wealth.
The next five years will require bold leadership, strategic partnerships, and unwavering commitment to equity as the only acceptable outcome. Together, with our members, partners, funders, and community advocates, we will continue building capacity, building bridges, and building power.
This movement is not slowing down; it is accelerating. And we’re here to stay.
President, Amber Banks
